Ultimate Guide to Royal Caribbean Suite Perks

suite waiting room at Royal Caribbean terminal in Miami

Are you wondering if the Royal Caribbean suites perks are worth the extra cost? When my family and I first sailed with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, we felt really confused by the different suite categories and the benefits included in each one. For example, some of the Royal Caribbean ships feature the “Royal Suite Class” while others do not.

Additionally, suite guests sailing in one category may receive different perks compared to guests in a different cabin level. We found ourselves wondering what perks come with a junior suite and which benefits are included with Sky Class vs Star Class. If you have asked yourself these same questions, rest assured that we’ve come up with a super simple guide for explaining the Royal Caribbean suite perks.

We’ll break down the options on the different ships and provide an easy-to-read chart that displays the suite benefits. So, continue reading our post below to find out everything you need to know about Royal Caribbean suites perks before your cruise vacation!

Royal Suite Class Perks

The Royal Caribbean ships offer two main types of suite categories for cruisers: Royal Suite Class and the Royal Caribbean Suites Program. While these names may seem similar, the two suite categories are actually quite different. We will start by discussing the Royal Suite Class category since it is the one that applies to most of the newer Royal Caribbean ships.

The Royal Suite Class can be found on the following ships:

  • Oasis Class Ships: Oasis of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Utopia of the Seas, and Wonder of the Seas
  • Quantum Class Ships: Spectrum of the Seas, Odyssey of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, and Quantum of the Seas
  • Icon Class Ships: Icon of the Seas

If you are sailing on a Royal Caribbean ship that is not one of the Oasis-class ships, Quantum-class ships, or Icon-class ships, then your suite category is the Royal Caribbean Suites Program. Before we talk about this other program, let’s break down the components of the Royal Suite Class you will find on the ships listed above.

Sea Class Benefits

The basic level of the Royal Suite Class is known as the Sea Class. This suite class is reserved for guests booked in a junior suite. Although junior suites do not offer a ton of benefits nor do they provide concierge service, they do feature extra space for families during their cruise vacation. Junior suites are larger than the typical balcony stateroom.

They provide larger bathrooms (with a bathtub), walk-in closets, and a bigger private balcony. Additionally, some of the junior suite perks you’ll find included with your Sea Class benefits are:

  • Dinner access to Coastal Kitchen restaurant (exclusive restaurant for suite guests)
  • Upgraded bath products
  • Luxury mattress
  • Priority check-in on embarkation day
  • Bathrobes to use in your stateroom
  • Silver Dining (on Spectrum of the Seas)

Sky Class Benefits

The next step up from the Royal Caribbean Sea Class is the Sky Class. Sky Class suites may feature things like a master bedroom separate from the living area, a dining table, a larger balcony, and a larger bathroom.

The Royal Caribbean ships feature Sky Class cabins in the form of the following suites: Sky Loft Suite, AquaTheater Suite (1 bedroom), Crown Loft Suite, Owner’s Suite, Grand Suite, 2 Bedroom Grand Suite, Golden Balcony, Golden Junior Suite, Sunset Suite, Sunset Corner Suite, Infinite Grand Suite, Ocean View Panoramic Suite (no balcony), Sky Junior Suite, and Surfside Family Suite.

The Sky Class cabins offer the additional perks you typically think of with suites. In addition to the perks mentioned above for Sea Class, guests cruising in the Sky Class also receive the following benefits:

  • Concierge service
  • Access to the suite sun deck
  • Access to the suite lounge with food and refreshments
  • Access to Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Gold and Silver Dining if you’re on Spectrum of the Seas)
  • Complimentary Internet access for each guest in the room
  • Priority debarking
  • Reserved seating in some venues

Star Class Benefits

The highest Royal Caribbean suites level is the Star Class. Star Class suites feature lots of square footage and luxurious accommodations. They also provide the most benefits. Some of the Star Class suites you’ll find on the Royal Caribbean ships include the Ultimate Panoramic Suite, Star Loft Suite, Grand Loft Suite, Grand Panoramic Suite, Owner’s Panoramic Suite, Owner’s Loft Suite, 2 Bedroom AquaTheater Suite, Royal Loft Suite, Ultimate Family Suite, Villa Suite, Ultimate Family Townhouse, and Icon Loft Suite.

Star Class suite guests receive all of the perks mentioned above for Sea Class and Sky Class. Some additional benefits included with Star Class are:

  • Royal Genie
  • Deluxe dining package
  • Deluxe beverage package
  • Complimentary gratuities
  • Complimentary minibar
  • Complimentary laundry and pressing

If you are considering booking a suite with Star Class benefits, I suggest adding up the value of the perks when comparing prices. For example, on our most recent cruise, the Sky Class perks (free internet, free specialty dining, free alcohol, included gratuities) totaled close to $2000. If you are going to be purchasing those additional items anyway, the cost of a Star Class suite may not be too much more than room in a lower category.

Royal Caribbean Suites Program Perks

As mentioned above, the Royal Suites Class perks are reserved for those guests sailing on an Oasis Class, Quantum Class, or Icon Class ship. All other Royal Caribbean ships utilize the Royal Caribbean Suites Program.

The perks for the Royal Caribbean Suites Program depend on the type of room you book. Guests sailing in a junior suite receive the following benefits:

  • Priority boarding on embarkation day
  • Bathrobes to use in the stateroom
  • Upgraded bathroom amenities

Guests sailing in a Grand Suite, Ocean View Panoramic Suite, or Owner’s Suite receive the perks listed above plus the following benefits:

  • Upgraded mattress
  • Priority debarkation
  • Concierge service
  • Access to the suite lounge
  • Priority reservations
  • Backstage tours
  • Priority pool seating on select ships
  • Priority tendering
  • Main dining room menu for in-room dining
  • Complimentary room service
  • Departure breakfast
  • Private breakfast and lunch on ships without Coastal Kitchen
  • Reserved seats in theater
  • Complimentary pressing on formal night

Cruisers who book a Royal Suite or a Villa Suite also receive the benefits listed above. Additionally, these guests also receive an escort onto the ship on embarkation day and complimentary champagne.

It’s also important to note that guests booked in a suite (not including junior suites) have access to Barefoot Beach on Labadee. This suite exclusive area on Royal Caribbean’s private island in Haiti also includes a separate lunch area for suites guests.

Final Thoughts on Royal Caribbean Suites Perks

As you can see, Royal Caribbean provides an extensive list of suites perks depending on which ship and stateroom you book. If you’re looking for a few basic perks like priority boarding and dinner access to Coastal Kitchen, the junior suites are often reasonably priced. My family and I find the extra benefit of concierge services, access to the suite lounge, and all-day access to Coastal Kitchen to be huge perks for Sky Class guests.

Plus, the Sky Class level rooms themselves offer some pretty great space and amenities. If you happen to find a great deal on one of the Sky Class suites, we highly recommend checking it out. We have yet to cruise in a Star Class suite, but it’s definitely on our bucket list!
