Oasis of the Seas Restaurants – Complimentary vs Specialty

Coastal Kitchen Dining Room

Are you wondering how many restaurants are on Oasis of the Seas? With a large selection of complimentary dining options and specialty restaurants, Oasis of the Seas offers plenty of places to enjoy a delicious meal. If you’re hoping to branch out from the Main Dining Room and Windjammer Buffet, you’re probably curious about the other dining opportunities onboard.

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas features all types of restaurants for guests to enjoy. In this post, we will explain the dining options available on the Oasis of the Seas. If you’re planning to sail on a different Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ship, you will still find this information helpful as many of the Royal Caribbean ships feature similar (or even the same) restaurants.

So, continue reading below for a full guide to Oasis of the Seas restaurants. We will include descriptions of the restaurants included with your cruise fare plus information on specialty restaurants you may choose to try as well.

Complimentary Restaurants

Royal Caribbean guests are often pleasantly surprised by the numerous dining options available onboard the ships. If you are a first time cruiser with Royal Caribbean, these various restaurant choices can even feel overwhelming. While the ships offer multiple specialty dining opportunities, sometimes cruisers just want to know what restaurants are included in their cruise fare.

So, what restaurants are free on Oasis of the Seas? Oasis of the Seas offers plenty of restaurants that are free for guests to enjoy. Some of these complimentary dining options serve free food at every meal, while other restaurants on our list feature free food at certain times. We will explain this in further detail below while also providing a brief menu for each complimentary restaurant onboard the Oasis of the Seas.

Park Cafe

Park Cafe is one of my family’s favorite spots to enjoy a quick breakfast or lunch. This quaint dining venue sits in the Central Park neighborhood on the Oasis of the Seas. Park Cafe features several different counters where guests can order food and beverages. The server behind the counter will plate the food for you. You can then dine inside the restaurant or outside on the Central Park patio.

My family and I often grabbed our coffee and breakfast from Park Cafe and took it back to our room to enjoy on the balcony. The breakfast menu at Park Cafe includes things like fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, cereal, and breakfast sandwiches. The Park Cafe lunch menu features a salad bar, fresh fruit, sandwiches, wraps, and sides.

This complimentary dining option is a great choice for those cruisers looking for less crowded options onboard. Plus, the location in Central Park can’t be beat! If you are looking for a great deck for your stateroom, we highly recommend choosing a cruise cabin on Deck 8 near Central Park. This quiet area of the ship allows easy access to Park Cafe and Trellis Bar. My family and I loved our Royal Caribbean junior suite that was located in this prime spot onboard!

El Loco Fresh

El Loco Fresh is a quick service restaurant onboard the Oasis of the Seas. It is located toward the back of the ship near the sports court, and it offers Mexican cuisine during lunch and afternoon hours. El Loco Fresh sometimes serves breakfast as well; although, you will want to check your Royal Caribbean app after boarding for specific times.

The breakfast menu at El Loco Fresh features breakfast burritos, quesadillas, and traditional items like eggs and bacon. The El Loco Fresh lunch menu includes tacos, nachos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls. The food here is excellent; however, it’s important to note that this complimentary restaurant is often extremely crowded. If you plan to dine at El Loco Fresh on a sea day or during peak times, prepare to stand in a long line.

Cafe Promenade

Cafe Promenade is a large, open cafe located in the Royal Promenade area of the Oasis of the Seas. Royal Caribbean guests often rave about the coffee in Cafe Promenade. Although it’s important to note that any specialty coffee comes with an additional charge (unless you purchased the drink package).

Cafe Promenade Oasis of the Seas

Cafe Promenade is open 24 hours, so it’s a great spot for late night snacks. It features things like sandwiches, wraps, pastries, sides, and desserts. Guests will find seating in Cafe Promenade that overlooks the Royal Promenade.

Windjammer Marketplace

Windjammer Marketplace is the free buffet available on Oasis of the Seas. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Windjammer Marketplace features several different food counters where guests can pick and choose what they would like to eat. This complimentary restaurant is a great spot for cruisers who like a large selection of items.

For breakfast, Windjammer serves everything from cereal, yogurt, pastries, and oatmeal to eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon – you name it. It’s important to note that during our recent sailing, Windjammer did not serve made-to-order omelets at an omelet station. Instead, guests could grab a pre-made omelet from the counter.

Desserts at Windjammer

The lunch menu at Windjammer is just as diverse as the breakfast selections. Cruisers will find fruit, salads, sandwiches, wraps, rice, meats, etc. at the many food counters inside Windjammer. The dinner menu at Windjammer is based on a nightly theme. For example, one night may offer Italian food while another night features Mexican cuisine.

Dinners at Windjammer are buffet style just like during the day, so you will not be served as in other restaurants onboard. However, we found the dinner crowd to be much smaller than the sometimes overwhelming crowds at breakfast and lunch.

Solarium Bistro

The Solarium Bistro is located in the adults-only area of the ship; although, kids are permitted to eat here. This restaurant is set up buffet style for breakfast and lunch with similar selections to those at Windjammer Marketplace. The Solarium Bistro offers a much less hectic vibe than Windjammer and includes healthy options as well. Dinner at Solarium Bistro consists of a combination of buffet style and table service. Guests can choose their appetizers, salads, and sides from the buffet, but they order their entrees from a server.

Vitality Cafe

Vitality Cafe is a small cafe located near the fitness center on Oasis of the Seas. While it offers fruit cups and a few healthy food options, Vitality Cafe is mostly known for its smoothies and juices. While the food is complimentary at Vitality Cafe, it’s important to note that the smoothies, juices, and protein shakes cost extra unless you purchased the Deluxe Drink Package.

Sorrento’s Pizza

Sorrento’s Pizza is located in the Royal Promenade and serves lunch and dinner until late night hours. Guests can order from a wide variety of pizzas and toppings.

Sorrento’s also features a gluten free crust that my husband thought was excellent. (He has a gluten allergy and is really picky, so this is a huge compliment to Sorrento’s!) Sorrento’s was also a huge hit with the younger kids on our cruise. The toddlers and preschoolers in our travel party often had a hard time finding foods they liked in the other restaurants. So, we visited Sorrento’s almost every evening after dinner to get the little ones their meal.

Boardwalk Dog House

The Boardwalk Dog House is one of the complimentary food options that’s available for lunch and dinner. Royal Caribbean guests can choose from a small menu of hotdogs and bratwurst sausages at Boardwalk Dog House. Guests have their choice of several toppings plus side options like potato salad and coleslaw.

Main Dining Room

The Main Dining Room on Oasis of the Seas is an impressive, multi-level dining venue. It features pre-assigned tables for diners during early or late dining times plus a My Time Dining option. The Main Dining Room offers a different menu each night, and it includes full service from a serving team.

I want to note here that if you are traveling with other family members, you should call Royal Caribbean prior to your cruise to ask to be seated together at dinner. My extended family and I linked our reservations in our cruise accounts, but we were still not seated together in the main dining room. You are able to inquire about this after boarding, but we found the process really troublesome. So, if you are hoping to dine with others on a separate reservation, make sure you notify Royal Caribbean in advance of your cruise.

Room Service

Room Service is available for free onboard the Oasis of the Seas; however, you will be charged a service fee (around $8) for your order unless it’s from the continental breakfast options.

Oasis of the Seas Room Service Menu

My family and I utilized room service on mornings when we needed to be off the ship early for excursions. You can mark your breakfast selections and place the room service menu outside your cabin door at night. A server will deliver it to your room during the specified time the next morning.

Oasis of the Seas Breakfast Room Service menu

Room Service is available 24/7, so you can enjoy lunch and dinner items in addition to the breakfast menu above. Overall, we really liked the options on the Room Service menu as it featured kid-friendly food like hotdogs, hamburgers, pb & j, grilled cheese, etc.

Coastal Kitchen

Coastal Kitchen is a complimentary restaurant on Oasis of the Seas; however, it is included for suite guests only. If you are traveling in a junior suite, you are permitted to make dinner reservations at Coastal Kitchen.

All other suite guests may dine in Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This exclusive restaurant features spectacular views of the ocean and offers incredible service. Our extended family members sailed in a Crown Royal Suite and enjoyed Coastal Kitchen for almost all of their meals. My family and I dined here several evenings for dinner and found both the food and service to be unmatched to any other dining experience onboard.

Specialty Restaurants on Oasis of the Seas

In addition to the complimentary dining options listed above, Oasis of the Seas features many specialty restaurants for cruisers. If you are interested in experiencing a specialty dining venue during your cruise, these are the options you will find on Oasis of the Seas.

Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade

Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade is located in the Boardwalk neighborhood right by the carousel. Guests can dine inside the restaurant to watch a sports game. Or you can eat/drink at one of the tables just outside. We frequented Playmakers during our trip because they played the World Cup on the big screens inside the restaurant.

The easy access to the carousel was also nice as our kids could take rides while we watched from nearby. Although Playmakers is a specialty restaurant, the prices here are really reasonable. Appetizers like nachos, sliders, and onion rings are all priced under $10. Additionally, you can get a burger, wings, or sandwiches for less than $10.

Izumi

The specialty dining option, Izumi, features two sides to the restaurant: Izumi Sushi Bar and Izumi Hibachi. Both of these options are open for lunch on select days and for dinner each evening of the cruise. Izumi Sushi features entrees like sushi rolls, teriyaki dishes, and ramen bowls.

Prices start at under $15 for entrees and under $10 for appetizers. Diners can also choose the $35 pre-fixe menu that includes one appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. Izumi Hibachi allows diners to experience the chef cooking on the hibachi grill right in front of them.

The Izumi Hibachi menu includes items like chicken, steak, and lobster, plus sushi roll options. Prices for Izumi Hibachi are roughly $50 per person. Note that if you would like to experience Izumi Hibachi, I recommend booking it ASAP in your Royal Caribbean Cruise Planner. The reservations fill up fast!

Johnny Rockets

Johnny Rockets is a popular diner located in the Boardwalk neighborhood near the AquaTheater. This specialty restaurant serves breakfast for FREE, but you will want to check the Royal Caribbean app during your cruise for specific dates and times. If you choose to enjoy Johnny Rockets for lunch or dinner, it comes with an additional cost.

The Johnny Rockets menu features popular diner items like burgers, sandwiches, fries, milkshakes, and more. Prices for Johnny Rockets fluctuate depending on ship and sailing, but you can typically plan to see a price of $10-$15 for your full meal.

Portside BBQ

Portside BBQ is located near the mini golf course and features both indoor and outdoor dining. This specialty restaurant often features live music from country singers who were excellent entertainers. It was also rarely busy on our cruise. With prices around $10-$15, Portside BBQ features items like ribs, brisket, turkey legs, beans, coleslaw, mac and cheese, etc.

Chops Grille

Chops Grille is an elegant steakhouse that’s located in the Central Park neighborhood. The dress code for Chops Grille is Smart Casual, so I would recommend somewhere between casual and formal wear. Chops Grille is open for lunch on sea days and for dinner nightly. Diners can select an appetizer, soup or salad, entree, side, and dessert.

Chops Grille offers a selection of prime steaks and seafood along with some really great wine pairings (at an additional charge). When my family and I dined at Chops Grille, it had an up charge of $65 per adult and $12 per child.

Giovanni’s Table

Giovanni’s Table is an Italian restaurant on Oasis of the Seas that’s located in the Central Park neighborhood. Like Chops Grille, the dress code is Smart Casual. Giovanni’s Table serves pasta dishes as well as other Italian inspired entrees.

This specialty restaurant is open for lunch on sea days and for dinner each evening. Although prices can fluctuate like at other specialty dining venues, Giovanni’s Table typically costs around $50 per person.

Chef’s Table

Chef’s Table is an exclusive signature restaurant featuring a five course meal. The cost to dine at Chef’s Table is roughly $85 per person, which includes a glass of wine paired with each course. The dress code for this intimate dining experience is Formal, and it’s a great option for those looking to celebrate a special anniversary or birthday onboard.

Vintages Wine Bar

Vintages Wine Bar is located in the Central Park neighborhood of Oasis of the Seas. It offers a diverse selection of wines, plus an array of small plates for dining. Vintages features both indoor and outdoor seating and is rarely busy. This is a great spot to enjoy an appetizer and glass of wine in the afternoon before dinner.

Most of the small plates cost less than $10, and the wine varies in price. Note that if you purchased the Deluxe Beverage Package and your glass of wine costs more than the allocated amount, you will be charged the difference. For example, the Deluxe Drink Package included drinks up to $14 for our sailing on the Oasis of the Seas. Whenever my husband and I ordered a glass of wine for $16, we were each charged the $2 difference.
