Meet Shari

Hi, I’m Shari! I am a stay-at-home mom with two little girls and an amazing husband.

My family and I love traveling together, especially on Disney vacations. I enjoy sharing reviews, information, and tips about traveling with kids.

If you are visiting Mom’s Plan-it Vacation Blog to gain information on family travel, you will find all kinds of insight on kid-friendly vacation spots, accomodations, dining options, and activities.

On Mom’s Plan-it Vacation Blog, I have also started featuring my family’s journey through homeschool. During the Covid pandemic, I began homeschooling our older daughter, who was in second grade at the time.

Since I have a master’s degree in education and over ten years of elementary teaching experience, this wasn’t a HUGE leap for me. However, homeschooling your own kids is definitely an adjustment! In our homeschooling section, I include information on umbrella schools, curriculum, and resources. I have found that homeschooling really allows for more flexibility when planning and taking family vacations.

Finally, you may notice that Mom’s Plan-it Vacation Blog features numerous posts on breast cancer and chemo treatment. A few months after having my second baby, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36.

During the first two years after my diagnosis, I went through a bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy (including complete hair loss), radiation therapy, and reconstruction surgery. This experience obviously had a big impact on me and my family.

Sharing my journey on this website seemed like a great way to help other breast cancer survivors realize that they aren’t alone in their fight. The outpouring of love and support from readers has meant so much to me! Those of you who take the time to comment with your own stories and advice are helping so many other readers around the world.

I am so grateful for all of you. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you find the tips, reviews, and advice you were searching for!
