Disney World Height Requirements and Rides Chart

If you’re headed to Walt Disney World, you’re probably interested in a list of ride heights for the attractions at each park. Since the Disney parks are geared for guests of all ages, you’ll find plenty of exciting rides and activities to enjoy whether you’re traveling with toddlers, big kids, or adults.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom Theme Park each offer an array of attractions that range from tame rides to thrilling roller coasters. Whether you’re looking to enjoy slow, easy rides with little kids or you’re craving heart stopping speed, you’re sure to find plenty of options at each of the Walt Disney World parks.

In the post below, we will break down a list of Walt Disney World height requirements based on the rides at each park. You’ll also find an easy to print PDF version of the Disney World height restrictions, which is completely free for you to print and use as a resource for your trip.

Magic Kingdom Height Requirements

Disney’s Magic Kingdom Theme Park is full of fun rides for kids of all ages. If you’re visiting WDW with toddlers or small kids, you’ll probably want to spend a large part of your time at this park. Since there are so many attractions to experience here, families often spend multiple days enjoying the rides and entertainment available at Magic Kingdom. The large majority of rides at this park do not have any height restrictions.

Families with kids of all ages and sizes can spend time on these Magic Kingdom rides that have no height requirements and are fun for the entire family:

  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • Journey of the Little Mermaid
  • Transit Authority PeopleMover
  • Pirates of the Caribbean Prince
  • Charming Regal Carrousel
  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
  • Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • Carousel of Progress
  • Walt Disney World Railroad
  • Mad Tea Party
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Astro Orbiter
  • Haunted Mansion
  • It’s a Small World
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Liberty Square Riverboat

I want to make sure to mention that some of the rides above may not be ideal for toddlers or little ones even though they are technically tall enough to ride them. For example, the Haunted Mansion can scare some smaller kids, and Astro Orbiter is a fairly high, fast ride that may be intimidating for younger children.

Space Mountain at Disney World

If you’re interested in a list of must-do rides and ones to skip for toddlers, we recommend checking out our article on Walt Disney World Toddler Tips. In that post, we provide information on the rides at each park that may or may not scare or intimidate little ones. In addition to the rides listed above, Disney’s Magic Kingdom offers several attractions that do have minimum height requirements. These include the following rides:

  • Tomorrowland Speedway – 32 inches
  • The Barnstormer – 35 inches
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – 38 inches
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 40 inches
  • Splash Mountain – 40 inches
  • Space Mountain – 44 inches
  • TRON – 48 inches

Epcot Height Requirements

While Epcot may not offer as many rides as the Magic Kingdom, you’ll still find plenty of fun attractions to experience. Even as small kids, my daughters love exploring the countries in the World Showcase for their live entertainment and snacks.

If you’re looking for Epcot rides that do not have height minimums, the following list of attractions is for you:

  • Frozen Ever After
  • Gran Fiesta Tour
  • Journey into Imagination
  • Living with the Land
  • Ratatouille Adventure
  • Nemo and Friends
  • Spaceship Earth

Several of the Epcot rides feature a minimum height requirement of 40 inches. These include:

  • Spaceship Earth
  • Soarin’
  • Test Track

Additionally, the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride has a restriction of 42 inches or taller. That being said, I would caution you about taking a kid aged 8 or younger on this roller coaster.

My 5-year-old was terrified after riding Guardians of the Galaxy as it’s a super fast attraction. I also noticed a dad in front of us had a sobbing son and daughter (maybe ages 6 and 7) after the ride. So, if you do plan to take young children on Guardians of the Galaxy, you may want to give them a heads up that it’s a fast ride with a lot of sharp, quick motions.

Height Restrictions for Hollywood Studios

With the addition of Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll find even more fun rides to experience at this popular park. Hollywood Studios features two rides with no height requirements that are appropriate for guests of all heights: Runaway Railway and Toy Story Mania.

Tower of Terror

The Alien Swirling Saucers ride has a minor height restriction of 32 inches. Additionally, Millennium Falcon and Slinky Dog Dash require riders to be at least 38 inches tall. Taller guests at Hollywood Studios may be able to experience the following rides, depending on their measured height:

  • Star Tours – 40 inches
  • Rise of the Resistance – 40 inches
  • Tower of Terror – 40 inches
  • Rock-n-Roller Coaster – 48 inches

Height Requirements for Rides at Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is a favorite for kids since it features spectacular animal theming. This is a great park to visit even with babies or toddlers as they tend to love viewing all the live animals.

Tree at Animal Kingdom

The Animal Kingdom rides that are perfect for smaller children and guests of any height include:

  • Kilimanjaro Safaris
  • Na’vi River Journey
  • Triceratop Spin
  • Wildlife Express Train

In addition to those attractions that the whole family can enjoy, the Animal Kingdom Theme Park offers the following rides with height restrictions:

  • Kali River Rapids – 38 inches
  • DINOSAUR – 40 inches
  • Avatar Flight of Passage – 44 inches
  • Expedition Everest – 44 inches

One of my family’s favorite things about Disney World compared to other popular theme parks is that you truly feel like you get your money’s worth even when visiting with small children. And if your kids aren’t quite tall enough for the big rides, you can always try the Rider Switch Service to take turns experiencing the bigger attractions.

In addition to the full list of Walt Disney World rides mentioned above, the Disney parks offer plenty of other entertainment options like character meets, dining experiences, live shows, and more!

We hope you have a magical visit to the Walt Disney World parks in Orlando! Enjoy the rides on your Walt Disney World vacation! Are you surprised by any of the Disney World height requirements? Comment below to share your thoughts!
